Unit test · grades 1–12

The unit test: practise before the paper

A unit test (test sumativ) closes a learning unit. On EduRol you rehearse it first: solve a free test with a marking scheme on the same unit, or ask the AI for a new test on your topics, and see at once what still needs work.

A new unit test on your unit

Pick the grade, subject and topics; the AI makes the test on the curriculum, with its marking scheme, and marks your answers. The first one is free: you get 450 credits when you join.

In short

The unit test (test sumativ) is the paper at the end of a learning unit. Under the Ministry's assessment regulation, a subject has at most as many summative assessments in a semester as it has learning units, and at least one is required to close the semester average. On EduRol, pupils in grades 5–12 solve free unit tests with marking schemes with no account, and with a free pupil account they get new AI-made tests on their unit — usually about 120 credits each, the first one covered by the 450 free credits.

What a unit test is

A summative assessment comes at the end of a learning unit and checks what you learnt across the whole unit, not just the last lesson. The Ministry's assessment regulation says that in a semester a subject has at most as many summative assessments as it has learning units, and that at least one is required to close the semester average.

The teacher writes the test, with a marking scheme (barem) and a table that turns points into marks. From grade 5 you get a mark from 10 down to 1; in primary school the result is usually given as a descriptive grade.

How to prepare on EduRol

  • Start with a free test

Find the grade and subject in the library and solve a test on the same unit. The right answers and the marking scheme show at once.

  • Ask for a new test on your unit

Pick the unit or lessons from the Moldovan curriculum, or type your own topics if your teacher went another way. You get a new test with a marking scheme, about 45 minutes long.

  • Go over your mistakes

Mistakes go into the notebook, and quick practice gives you items on your weak topics, for free.

  • In grades 1–4, with a parent

A child in grades 1–4 does not sign up alone: a parent makes a profile from their own account and opens it on their phone or computer.

What you can do on EduRol

  • Free tests with marking schemes, no account

The library has unit tests for grades 5–12 on the units of the Moldovan curriculum. Solve them online and see your mistakes and the marking scheme at once, or download the PDF.

  • New papers, made by AI on your topics

Pick the grade, subject, kind of paper and the curriculum topics, or type your own. One AI model writes the paper with its marking scheme, a second one from another family re-solves every item with a single right answer, and a third reviews it. If they disagree on the key, you get no paper and pay nothing.

  • Marked against the scheme

Multiple-choice and numeric answers are marked by the program, at once and for free. Written answers are marked by AI against the scheme. Disagree with an item? Contest it: a stronger model re-marks it and never lowers your mark.

  • A notebook of mistakes

Every item you get wrong goes into the notebook, with the right answer and how to get there, so you can come back to it until you know it.

  • A map of the curriculum's topics

Every answer colours the topics: mastered, in progress, needs work. Topics come back for review after 7, 21 and 60 days, and quick practice on already-checked items is free. You are compared only with yourself.

  • A parent sees it all

A linked parent sees the same topic map and the solved papers, tops up credits, sets a monthly limit and gets an email about the child's week.

What it costs

  • The library tests are free, with no account and no limit.
  • A pupil account is free and comes with 450 credits — enough for a first AI-made paper of any kind, an exam simulation included.
  • A new unit test usually costs about 120 credits; 10 credits = 1 MDL. You see the exact cost before you start and pay only for what the AI actually did.
  • Multiple-choice and numeric answers, hints and quick practice use no credits; marking written answers usually costs a few credits.
  • A pupil never pays: more credits are bought by a parent, from 100 MDL, from a link the child sends — no parent account needed.

The simulations are unofficial examples

EduRol's simulations are made by EduRol from the exam programmes and the exams' public structure. They are unofficial examples, for practice only; they are not official MEC papers: they do not come from Moldova's Ministry of Education and Research or from ANCE and are not endorsed by them. The official papers of past sessions, with their marking schemes, and practice tests are on ANCE's website.

Questions

What is a unit test (test sumativ)?
The paper at the end of a learning unit, written by the teacher with a marking scheme. In a semester a subject has at most as many of them as it has units, and at least one is required for the semester average (the Ministry's assessment regulation).
Where can I find unit tests with marking schemes?
In the EduRol library: free unit tests for grades 5–12 in mathematics, Romanian, history, biology, chemistry and physics, with answers and the marking scheme on the page. Solve them online with no account, or download the PDF. They are in Romanian.
Can I get a test on exactly the unit we are doing now?
Yes. In the generator you pick the unit or lessons from the Moldovan curriculum, or type your own topics. The AI makes a new test with a marking scheme that you solve online or on paper.
How much does an AI-made test cost?
Usually about 120 credits (10 credits = 1 MDL); you see the exact cost first. The first one is covered by the 450 credits you get when you join, and the library tests are free. More credits are bought only by a parent.
Does it work for grades 1–4?
Yes. A parent makes the child's profile from their own EduRol parent account — the child needs no email — and opens it on their phone or computer. There the child does tests on the units of their grade.
