The lyceum semester test: prepare in good time

In the lyceum, some subjects end the semester with a written paper lasting two academic hours, and its mark is half of the semester average. On EduRol you write practice papers on the same subject and topics, against the clock, and see what to revise.

Pick the grade, subject and the semester's units; the AI makes a 90-minute paper with a marking scheme and marks it. The first one is free: you get 450 credits when you join.

In short

The semester test is written only in the lyceum (grades 10–12), in the subjects set by a Ministry order, in the last month of the semester, and lasts two academic hours; in those subjects the semester average is the average of the current marks plus the test mark, divided by two. On EduRol a lyceum pupil with a free account gets a 90-minute practice paper on the semester's topics, made by AI with a marking scheme, and solves it against the clock, online or on paper; the first one is covered by the 450 free credits.

How the semester test works

The semester test is written only in lyceum grades. The subjects are set by an order of the Ministry of Education and Research, and a school cannot add others. The papers are written in the last month of the semester, at most one a day, with at least a day between them, and last two academic hours.

You may sit it if your average of current marks in that subject is at least 5. The subject's teachers mark it against the scheme within five days, and the results are gone through with the pupils within ten working days.

In subjects with a semester test, the semester average is the average of the current marks plus the test mark, divided by two, if neither is below 5. A pupil who gets below 5 or misses it can write it again before the next session.

How to prepare on EduRol

  • 90-minute papers on the semester's topics

Pick the grade, subject and the units covered; the AI makes a 90-minute paper, from simple items to complex ones, with a marking scheme.

  • Against the clock, as on the day

As a simulation, with no hints and in the paper's time; or as practice, with hints, when you are just starting.

  • Written answers marked against the scheme

From photos of handwritten work too. Disagree with an item? Contest it.

  • What to revise in the last weeks

The topic map shows what you have mastered; put the test date in your plan and get a week-by-week list.

What you can do on EduRol

  • New papers, made by AI on your topics

Pick the grade, subject, kind of paper and the curriculum topics, or type your own. One AI model writes the paper with its marking scheme, a second one from another family re-solves every item with a single right answer, and a third reviews it. If they disagree on the key, you get no paper and pay nothing.

  • Online, as practice or against the clock

In practice mode you can take a hint when stuck (it costs points on that item, not credits). In simulation mode you write without hints, in the exam's time, and see your mark at the end.

  • Marked against the scheme

Multiple-choice and numeric answers are marked by the program, at once and for free. Written answers are marked by AI against the scheme. Disagree with an item? Contest it: a stronger model re-marks it and never lowers your mark.

  • On paper too, from photos

The paper prints with an answer sheet, a QR code on every page. Write by hand, photograph the pages, and the AI reads the handwriting and marks it against the scheme. A photo that cannot be read is never marked wrong.

  • A notebook of mistakes

Every item you get wrong goes into the notebook, with the right answer and how to get there, so you can come back to it until you know it.

  • A map of the curriculum's topics

Every answer colours the topics: mastered, in progress, needs work. Topics come back for review after 7, 21 and 60 days, and quick practice on already-checked items is free. You are compared only with yourself.

What it costs

  • The library tests are free, with no account and no limit.
  • A pupil account is free and comes with 450 credits — enough for a first AI-made paper of any kind, an exam simulation included.
  • A new unit test usually costs about 120 credits; 10 credits = 1 MDL. You see the exact cost before you start and pay only for what the AI actually did.
  • Multiple-choice and numeric answers, hints and quick practice use no credits; marking written answers usually costs a few credits.
  • A pupil never pays: more credits are bought by a parent, from 100 MDL, from a link the child sends — no parent account needed.

The simulations are unofficial examples

EduRol's simulations are made by EduRol from the exam programmes and the exams' public structure. They are unofficial examples, for practice only; they are not official MEC papers: they do not come from Moldova's Ministry of Education and Research or from ANCE and are not endorsed by them. The official papers of past sessions, with their marking schemes, and practice tests are on ANCE's website.
